Lecture: The Spectrum of Retinal Imaging
April 16, 2018 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm
Timothy J. Bennett, CRA, OCT-C, FOPS.
2018 IJCAHPO Technician & Nurses Program/ASCRS Symposium
Modern retinal imaging incorporates a variety of instruments, filters or lasers to maximize diagnostic information. This course will briefly describe common techniques, filters and wavelengths used in fundus cameras and scanning laser ophthalmoscopes (SLO) for fundus photography, monochromatic imaging, angiography, fundus autofluorescence and OCT.
Objectives:
- List instruments commonly used for retinal imaging.
- Describe the principles of fluorescence and monochromatic illumination.
- Discuss their effect on visualization of fundus structures.
