SUMMARY:Lecture: OCT – Anatomy of a Scan
DESCRIPTION:Timothy J. Bennett\, CRA\, OCT-C\, FOPS. \nThe 47th OPS Annual Educational Program. \nGood communication between imagers and ophthalmologists is helpful in obtaining the best diagnostic images. This course will provide a systematic approach to understanding what we see in retinal OCT images. Armed with this knowledge\, we can adapt our scanning strategy when necessary\, and communicate important or unexpected findings to the ordering physician. Discussion will include descriptive features such as contour\, thickness\, reflectivity\, and shadowing. Identification of retinal landmarks\, common pathologic features\, and analysis artifacts will be presented. \nObjectives: \n\nIdentify normal retinal landmarks and common pathologic features.\nRecognize common scanning and analysis artifacts.\nDescribe abnormal findings based on contour\, thickness\, reflectivity and shadowing.

SUMMARY:Lecture: Descriptive Interpretation of Fluorescein Angiography
DESCRIPTION:Timothy J. Bennett\, CRA\, OCT-C\, FOPS.\nGeisinger Educational Conference for Ophthalmic Technical Personnel.  \nKnowledge of the normal circulation patterns of the retinal and choroidal blood vessels provides a foundation for identifying abnormalities in fluorescein angiography. This course will cover the angiographic procedure\, timing/phases of circulation\, and descriptive terminology in both normal and abnormal angiograms. Concepts of hyperfluorescence and hypofluorescence will be discussed. \nObjectives: \n\nDescribe the phases of a normal angiogram.\nIdentify abnormal patterns of fluorescence\nRecognize common hyperfluorescent and hypofluorescent findings.
